Backstage With Will Leamon
This was a series of essays I wrote about community theatre for Athens Food and Culture Magazine. I started in Theatre as a little boy under the tutelage of Tom Coleman at Athens Creative Theatre and have bounced in and out of community theatre ever since. More about my history with the craft is contained within these essays.
These were written in the first year of our Classic City Arts project. But as we approached year two the perils of production, the financial strain and the pecularities of our local arts scene had begun to take their toll. There's a reason why a cheerleader can't be the quarterback too and by the time I stopped writing these I was over-committed to quarterbacking CCA and couldn't be the cheerleader for Community Theatre writ large anymore.
I fully recognize that these essays need a concluding piece and will, someday, get around to writing it.
